GUIDELINES FOR RITA COUNTRY RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
Although PROLADES currently has a working relationship with numerous fellow researchers and organizations in many countries of the Americas, because of the demands of our new Religion-In-The-Americas (RITA) website we are attempting to expand our coverage of the various regions by seeking to recruit persons interested in helping with the process of updating and adding to our existing listings and documents for a particular country of their interest.
For most countries, we are hoping to establish a working relationship with someone (or an organization) who currently lives in a particular country, and who agrees to assist us in obtaining the most complete and reliable information possible for that country so that this information can be made available to a wider audience via the Internet.
Some of our existing country research associates include:
University and/or seminary professors in the field of social sciences or religious studies.
Undergraduate or graduate students who are currently engaged in fieldwork or who are planning on doing fieldwork in the near future, or who must participate in a community service project to meet graduation requirements (such as students of the University of Costa Rica who must invest 300 hours in the Trabajo Comunal Universitario program).
Missionaries or other church-related professionals.
National church leaders who are associated with DAWN-Amanecer, COMIBAM, the Evangelical Alliance, CLAI, or other service organizations.
Researchers or other staff members who are currently working with other organizations.
Other interested professionals of any or no religious affiliation.
The following GUIDELINES have been established to assist the COUNTRY RESEARCH ASSOCIATES in the process of accomplishing these goals.
Look over the existing webpages for your particular country at www.prolades.com.
Use the special forms provided for UPDATES (corrections, deletions or other modifications) and NEW DATA (information that is missing) on www.prolades.com.
Send us suggestions for any NEW LINKS or report any BROKEN LINKS to the webmaster: prolades@racsa.co.cr
If you know of any relevant documents (in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese) that you would like to see included on the webpages for your country, please let us know about them and where they can be obtained: prolades@racsa.co.cr
If you know of any existing databases or documents for your country that you would like to see included on www.prolades.com, please send us information about them.
If you are a professor and would like to involve a group of your students in a research project on religious groups in your country, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you with guidelines, questionnaires, contacts with resource people and other kinds of information that will speed you on your way!
What suggestions do you have for improving the look, content or coverage of information in the webpages for your country of interest on the RITA Database website?
We hope that you will join us in this endeavor for your own enlightened self-interest in order to speed up the process of finding and making available valuable information about your country of interest via the Internet to others who are also interested in your country.
We hope that you will find the RITA Database Project to be a valuable tool for research, teaching and sharing information with others about religious groups in the Americas and the Iberian Peninsula.
